Handgun Vitals With Daniel Shaw

Handgun Vitals is designed to present students of all experience levels, the skills and knowledge necessary to take them to a high level of proficiency with a defensive handgun.  The shooter will learn to deliver precision at a fast pace while increasing his or her ability to problem solve a defensive use of force situation. Handgun Vitals I frames a solid foundation for future defensive handgun training and serves as the prerequisite for Handgun Vitals II.

Day 1

Topics Include

Life safety as it relates to defensive use of force
Grip and standing position
Hard sight focus
Hard target focus
Ready positions for a spherical environment
Post engagement scan, actions and communication
Gaining rapid precision
Drawing from concealment (or OWB)
Engagement technique
Speed reload
Clearing stoppages common to defensive handguns
Gaining the advantage
Movement to dominant positions

Day 2

Topics Include

Life safety as it relates to the armed citizen
Review of core defensive shooting fundamentals
Strong hand problem solving (one hand manipulations)
Protecting a third party
Kneeling, prone and supine positions
Forward movement
Backward movement
Strong hand only
Fighting from retention
Lateral movement
Final event

Gear List

A handgun chambered for a common defense caliber (.22 is acceptable, but not recommended)
A quality (non-collapsing) holster
At least 3 magazines or 4 speed loaders/strips for revolver shooters
600-800 rounds

Presented by Mr. Freddy Osuna author of Index Tracking: $525 (2 Day) Essential Guide to Trailing Man and Beast 2012. Osuna is a highly sought after Tracking Instructor who has most recently performed as the United States Marine Corps School of Infantry East Combat Tracking Subject Matter Expert, and US Army Combat Tracking Course Lead Instructor. Through his attentive mentorship you will be outfitted with the knowledge necessary in performing this valuable skill. This course teaches the individual skill sets of the Tracker and each individual will be evaluated and rated amongst their peers. This course is designed to provide an introduction to tracking as it applies to personal safety, sensory awareness, protection of property and livestock, border ops, search and rescue, fugitive recovery, intelligence collection, anti poaching/anti dumping, and recovery of highly evasive individuals who seek escape and refuge in our nations wild lands. Subsequently you will leave with a deeper understanding of how focusing our senses can enrich our personal and professional lives.

Minimum Equipment: Note Taking Equipment; Camera; Hiking Boots; Outdoor Clothing (pants & long sleeves recommended); Day Pack; 100oz Water Capacity; Gloves; Snacks; eye protection, measuring tape.

It is our desire to serve our students and customers to the very best of our ability and to the highest standards of excellence. This page explains our policies on issuing refunds.

Refunds will be issued in the same manner as payment. If payment was via credit card, refund will be issued to the card used. If payment was by check, refund will be by check.
For all training courses, payment is due in full to reserve a seat in the course unless specifically stated otherwise.
If a student cancels their seat in the course more than 7 days from course date, a full refund will be issued.
If a student cancels their seat in the course less than 7 days from course date, a 50% refund will be issued.
No refunds for course seats will be issued on or after the date of the course.
Students who are removed from a course for any reason, as stated in our hold harmless agreement, will not be issued a refund for their course fees.

If for any reason a course is canceled, students will receive a full refund promptly at the time of cancellation as well as notice of the cancellation as soon as possible.

H.A.I.T. is a course specifically designed to put the student into realistic situations where you have to move through buildings to either save yourself, your family or to escape an active shooter situation.
